Meet the Team

Sam Martin

I’ve worked within family law since I began my legal training in 2002 and have been practising since 2007. Since then, I’ve built up a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of children and family law - subjects which I am very passionate about. My approach is welcoming and understanding whilst providing direct, practical, and robust advice.

I specialise in matters relating to children, particularly care proceedings where children’s social services are involved. I represent parents, children and other relatives that may be involved or who seek to care for a child within their family.

I am also an advocate for fair representation of vulnerable individuals – such as those with learning disabilities and / or mental health issues – and strongly believe that every individual should be represented fairly and rigorously in court proceedings.

My advice for anyone seeking help with a family law matter is to get legal advice at the earliest possible opportunity. Securing the right advice as early as possible can make a crucial difference to proceedings.

Outside of work, I am married and mum to two children. I enjoy HIIT training, (try to enjoy) running and (most definitely enjoy!) holidays.

Kate Kingham

I began my career in family law in 2001 when, whilst working in the family department and bringing up two young children, I decided to train and study law. I qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and became head of the family department in 2011.

I founded ‘Your Family Law’ with my colleague and partner, Sam, whom I have worked closely with for over 20 years. I specialise in care proceedings and acting for children, parents and/or other family members. Exclusively practising family law has given me great depth of experience in this area.

I always strive to provide good clear legal advice that is suited to the many different and complex difficulties my clients often face. Clients tell me they appreciate my down to earth manner.

I work to support and guide my clients through difficult times, understanding that many aspects of family law can be both overwhelming and emotional. I am there to provide expert advice as well as represent you in court if proceedings become unavoidable.
